B&B Palazzo Zacą
Tourist Information

The old town of Gallipoli, a splendid small town over the Ionian sea, is on a small island connected to the mainland through a stone bridge of XVII century.
Walking in the narrow and winding streets one feels the reality of a lively town where time seems halted and the traditions remain unchanged.
There are old palaces of grand beauty, churches, picture galleries and the marvellous bay of Puritą’s beach. Its crystal-clear water and seabed teeming with fishes is a magic and fascinating place from which you can watch beautiful sunsets and the nearby island o St. Andrea where nests the rare Corsican gull.
There is a strong feeling to be in the middle Mediterranean, between different and fascinating cultures. The town structure is very similar to that of several Arab towns and the features of buildings, mostly white and with internal courtyards, recalls the Greek islands. The monumental walls enclosing the town centre from the sea until the “Angioino” castle maintain the aspect of a defensive structure which evokes battles and history of heroism, firmness and resistance.
Many restaurants, bars and pubs gladden the stay of tourists with the offer of typical dishes of fish, local sweets of old and exclusive tradition. There are also workshops of papier māché which exhibit precious statues of sacred inspiration as well as various other objects.
